State of Texas LTC application fees
To obtain your License to Carry the State of Texas requires a minimum 4-6 hour Handgun License certification course which is outlined by the Department of Public Safety and covers:

State Licensing Requirements
To obtain a permit to carry requires completion of the Certification Course, passing the shooting proficiency test (min 175 out of 250), and passing a 50 question written test.
Steps to get your license
1. Check your eligibility
2. Register for the LTC class
3. Apply to Texas DPS

$25 military veteran
$0 active duty
4. Submit Fingerprints
Schedule online
5. Gather LTC supporting documents
Save the LTC class completion certificate (LTC-100)
6. Submit the LTC-100 and any additional supporting documents online through the contact us option on Texas DPS website. (you do have up to two years to complete all of the steps in the LTC process.
